DFDL’s Partners James Finch and Thida Aye have published an article entitled “International Arbitration Under Myanmar’s Arbitration Law” in the Asian International Arbitration Journal. The foregoing law was passed by the Myanmar Parliament in 2016 to give effect to the 1958 New York Convention, to which Myanmar adhered a few years ago. The emphasis of the article is upon the legal mechanisms and local law relevant to the agreement upon and enforcement of foreign arbitration awards in Myanmar.
